Google Search experienced indexing and serving issues on August 28th, starting at around 6:15 am ET. This affected various news sites, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNN, and others that constantly post new content. Their recent articles were not showing up in Google search results.

Users took to social media to report the issue, with some questioning whether it was a larger problem or just a serving issue. The Google Search Console's URL inspection tool showed that pages had been indexed, but they did not appear in search results.

The issue seemed to be resolved by 7:35 am ET, when users began seeing new content from the past hour show up in their searches. Barry Schwartz, a known expert in the field, tweeted that the issue appeared to be fixed and provided links to his tweets on the matter.
