Google Seeks EU Court Intervention on Search Data Sharing Requirements
Google has requested that the European Union's General Court suspend an order requiring it to share search data with rival AI services while its wider legal challenge proceeds.
The company argues that implementing this requirement could cause serious harm to the privacy of European users, despite the Commission maintaining that existing safeguards for privacy, security, and personal data are sufficient.
The dispute centers around Article 6(11) of the Digital Markets Act, which requires Google to provide anonymized ranking, query, click, and viewing data to eligible rival search services on fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory terms.
