Google Taps AI to Streamline Advertising Operations
At the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Google's Peentoo Patel discussed the company's development of AI-powered advertising tools. Patel noted that publishers are enthusiastic about AI's potential to improve routine advertising operations and support new products.
The technology has the capability to analyze content, troubleshoot campaigns, and eventually coordinate transactions among buyers and sellers. To tap into this potential, Google introduced Ask Ad Manager, which brings its Gemini models into the Google Ad Manager platform.
This tool marks a shift from reactive AI features toward a proactive, conversational agent. With Ask Ad Manager, users can ask why a particular line item isn't delivering, and the system will examine data in the platform to suggest possible causes.
Patel stated that the goal is to go from hours to minutes when troubleshooting campaigns, allowing ad-operations teams to recover revenue more efficiently. The agent also assists with complicated reporting, recommending changes involving pricing or deal management.
