Google Teases 'Unlock with Google Account' Feature for Android

Android users may soon have an easier way to regain access to their devices if they forget their PIN or password. A feature called 'Unlock with Google Account' is in the works, allowing users to unlock their phones using their linked Google account credentials.

The feature is currently optional and would be available in the 'Device unlock' section of the settings. This means that users who are confident they will never forget their PIN or password can opt out of this feature if they prefer a higher level of security.

Google previously allowed users to reset their pattern lock using their Google account on Android versions 4.4 and lower, but removed this feature with the release of Android Lollipop 5.0. Since then, users have had to factory reset their devices if they forget their PIN or password, which can be a major inconvenience for those who lose access to their phones.
