Google Tests AI-Focused Search Layout Without Classic Search Button

Google is testing a new layout for its Search homepage that removes the classic Google Search button and replaces it with shortcuts to AI features. The updated design includes three buttons: Create images, Ask about files, and Brainstorm. These buttons allow users to access various AI-powered tools, such as generating images, asking questions about uploaded files, or engaging in a conversation with Google's AI.

The new layout also retains the 'I'm Feeling Lucky' button, which is still accessible on the Search homepage. However, the absence of the explicit Google Search button may cause some users to struggle finding the traditional search function, which can be accessed by entering text into the search bar and pressing Enter or Return.

It's unclear how widespread this test is, as not all users are seeing the updated layout. Those who have access to it may need to clear their browser cache or sign out of their Google account to see the changes.
