Google Tightens AI Model Access for Personal Accounts in Gemini App
Google has announced changes to its AI model access for personal accounts in the Gemini app. Starting October 9, 2026, free users will only have access to Flash-Lite, while Google AI Plus subscribers will be limited to Flash-Lite and Flash.
AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will continue to have access to all three models: Flash-Lite, Flash, and Pro. Additionally, AI Pro users will now also gain access to Deep Think, a feature previously exclusive to AI Ultra.
The changes affect the usage limits and model access for each subscription plan, with free users having standard usage limits and only accessing Flash-Lite, while AI Plus users have double the standard usage limit but are limited to two models. AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will have four times the standard usage limit and access to all three models.
