Google has announced that it will discontinue its Safety Signal feature for LTE-connected Pixel Watches by December 12, 2026. This feature provided essential safety tools such as emergency SOS, fall detection, and emergency contact calls, even without a wireless plan for the wearable. It was exclusively available on the LTE-enabled Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 models.

According to Google, current users will receive email and push notifications with advanced notice about the change. The features will remain active during a 30-day transition period starting from the date of the notification. After this period, all access to Safety Signal will be terminated.

While the Safety Signal feature will no longer be available over LTE, the tools can still be used when the smartwatch is connected to a WiFi network, paired to a smartphone via Bluetooth, or linked to a carrier’s active cellular line.
