Google Translate Gets Multitasking Boost on Android, Real-Time Earbud Support

Google has rolled out two major updates for its Translate app on Android and iOS devices. The first update allows Android users to continue translating speech in the background, giving them the freedom to open other apps or lock their device. This feature is particularly useful for multitasking and will assist users with translating over 70 languages in 'near real-time'.

For iPhone users, Google has introduced support for real-time translations via earbuds or by holding their phone to their ears. The company wants to provide users with a seamless translation experience across all devices.

The updates are part of Google's efforts to improve the Translate app, which has seen significant improvements over the past few months. Earlier this year, Google rolled out a huge update for iOS users that added headphone support and various translation modes, including 'Listening', 'Conversation', and 'Text-only'.
