Google Unleashes Gemini 4 Argon AI Model with Aggressive Pricing and Cybersecurity Features
Alphabet's Google has launched its new Gemini 4 Argon AI model, undercutting Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1 in pricing and capabilities. The move is seen as a significant escalation of competition in the AI space, with Google offering aggressive pricing and new coding and cybersecurity features.
The Gemini 4 Argon model is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, which significantly undercuts Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1, priced at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
Google is also offering a 95% discount on cached input tokens, making its model more attractive to developers. The company claims that Argon scored 77.9% on the DeepSWE v1.1 coding benchmark, a record result.
Cybersecurity is another key area where Google's Argon excels, with the ability to autonomously identify, verify and fix software vulnerabilities. According to Jefferies, Argon tied Grok 4.7 for the top score of 68% on CWE-bench v1, a vulnerability-fixing test.
