Google has released Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, an update to its generative video model that gives developers more control over AI-generated video clips.

The new features include scene extension, which allows developers to analyze up to 10 seconds of prior context and generate continuous footage seamlessly from where the previous clip left off.

Omni 1.1 also lets developers specify a shot's first and last frame, then generates continuous video between those two keyframes.

The model can be used for camera orbits, zoom transitions, and looping clips, and creators can supply up to three seconds of video reference material as part of their input.

Google positions this tool for social media clips, product demos, explainer segments, and storyboard tests, where the 40-second extension ceiling is sufficient.
