Google Unveils AI-Powered Features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep
Google has started rolling out three new AI-powered features for its users: Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live. These features were announced at I/O 2026 and have been in testing since then.
Gmail Live allows users to talk to their inbox, having a 'natural, spoken conversation with your inbox' as Google describes it. This feature can pull precise information without the need for manual searching or reading through threads.
You can ask follow-up questions without repeating context, and Gmail Live can be interrupted at any time to switch topics without starting a new session.
Docs Live is positioned as a 'hands-free thought partner and co-writer' that helps users quickly create first drafts for summaries, proposals, and more. Gemini can draw from information in your Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web.
Keep Live listens to 'audio brain dumps and processes them' to generate notes and lists. It understands the user's stream of consciousness, showing an inline preview of what it generated after a few seconds.
