Google Unveils Custom Avatars for AI Support Bots
Google has unveiled its latest Gemini 3.8 Live model, which includes custom avatars that can be used to make online support bots feel more human-like. According to Google's research scientist Shuo-yiin Chang and software engineer CJ Zheng, the new feature gives AI a 'visual presence.'
The avatars are designed for enterprise users and can be used for customer service, training, and other purposes. Businesses will be able to select from a library of preset avatars or create custom ones that fit their branding.
Google has also included safety features such as SynthID watermarking to verify that the videos are AI-generated. This helps minimize misinformation and misattribution.
Gemini 3.8 Live can now support 97 languages and automatically switch between them, making multilingual conversations more seamless.
