Google Unveils Enhanced Study Tools in Search and Gemini
Google has unveiled a slew of new study tools across Search and Gemini to help students learn and understand complex topics. These features include AI-generated interactive visuals, 3D simulations, a dedicated student hub, customized practice quizzes, and more.
The company's goal is to make Gemini the go-to AI assistant for students, rivaling competitors like OpenAI and education startups such as Knowt and Gauth. The launch of these new features marks Google's latest effort in this area.
On Search, students can now generate custom tools and simulations using AI Mode. For example, if a student searches for 'pH scale,' they'll get an interactive visual to help them understand the basics. They can then ask follow-up questions, such as plotting citrus fruits on the pH scale, and AI Mode will create an interactive experience tailored to their query.
Users can also receive customized practice quizzes directly in Search on any subject, including science, math, humanities, foreign languages, and more. Additionally, Lens in Search is rolling out a new interactive learning experience that allows students to work through problems by uploading a photo of what they're working on.
