Google Unveils Gemini 4 Argon, a Frontier Model Surpassing Rivals

Google has unveiled its long-awaited Gemini 4 Argon, a frontier model that surpasses competitors in various benchmarks. The tech giant claims that Argon sets a new state of the art on DeepSWE v1.1, measuring performance in real-world long-horizon software engineering tasks.

The company's CEO, Sundar Pichai, stated that Argon has frontier safeguards and is being rolled out responsibly through its Fairwind Program with the US government and trusted cyber defenders.

When launched, Argon will cost $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Google engineers have already been using Argon internally for tasks such as debugging and large-scale codebase migrations.
