Google Unveils Gemini 4 Argon Model with Enhanced Cybersecurity Capabilities
Google has announced its new Gemini 4 Argon model, which will be released to a select group of trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program. This move marks a significant development in the field of artificial intelligence, as Argon's output token limit has been increased to 1 million tokens, up from the previous 64K.
The model's capabilities are impressive, with Google claiming that it can autonomously find, validate and patch critical software vulnerabilities. It also achieves a score of 68% on CWE-bench v1, tying for first place alongside Grok 4.7 and GPT-6 Astra. Argon will launch at an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input tokens priced at 95% off the input token price.
The company plans to release Argon to developers, enterprises, and consumers in the future, but for now, it is only available to a select group of trusted cyber defenders. Google has published results from an earlier Gemini security exercise against three real companies, highlighting the model's potential applications in cybersecurity.
