Google Unveils Gemini 4 Argon Pricing, But Model Remains Off-Limits
Google has announced that its new Gemini 4 Argon model will launch at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. However, this pricing is only for an introductory period, which Google has not specified a start or end date for.
The company also mentioned that cached input tokens will be priced at 95% off the input token price, effectively making it $0.10 per million cached input tokens during the introductory period and $0.20 afterwards.
It's worth noting that Google has not made Argon available for purchase yet, despite the announced pricing. The model is currently only accessible to vetted cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program, which provides early access to advanced models for high-priority defenders such as governments, healthcare providers, and telecommunications services.
Broader access will come later, with Google planning to release Argon to developers, enterprises, and consumers starting with paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers. However, no date has been given for this rollout.
