Google Unveils Home MCP Early Access for AI Agents
Google has opened early access to Home MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for AI agents that can monitor devices, review event history, and execute control actions across the Google Home ecosystem.
The service is available in English to Google Home Premium Advanced users in the US, with access rolling out on September 16, 2026.
Home MCP allows AI agents to interact with all devices and event history within the ecosystem, including Nest cameras, thermostats, and Works with Google Home or Matter light bulbs.
The connection gives the agent real-world physical context, enabling it to analyze and answer questions about home activity, summarize camera footage across rooms, manage devices on behalf of the user, and build smart home dashboards using everyday language.
