Google Unveils Motion Assist to Combat Car Sickness
Google has rolled out its answer to Apple's Vehicle Motion Cues, a feature called Motion Assist. This technology helps prevent motion sickness by synchronizing what your eyes see with what your body feels.
Motion sickness occurs when the conflicting signals from your inner ear and eyes cause your brain to get confused. Motion Assist uses your device's motion sensors to create small shapes on the screen that move around based on the car's movements, helping your brain adjust to the situation.
To enable Motion Assist, navigate to the Settings app on your Android device (specifically, devices running Android 17 or higher and updated Google Play Services) and toggle it on from the Personal & Device Safety menu. You can also customize the colors, opacity, and shapes that appear when Motion Assist is activated.
