Google Unveils Pricier Googlebooks, Integrating Gemini and App Casting
Google has launched its new laptop collection, dubbed Googlebook, which marks a significant departure from the Chromebook series.
The Googlebook lineup promises to bring together Chrome, Google Play apps, and a modern operating system. In contrast to Chromebooks, which have traditionally been more affordable options for students and budget-conscious buyers, Googlebooks start at £999/$899, making them significantly pricier.
One of the key features of Googlebook is its integration with Gemini, an AI-powered assistant that aims to provide 'personal and proactive help.' This includes a Magic Pointer, which uses Deepmind technology to offer contextual suggestions when you point your cursor at something on the screen.
Googlebook also allows users to access apps from their compatible Android phones directly onto their laptop through app casting. Additionally, users can view, search, or insert files from their phone without needing transfers via Quick Access.
