Google Unveils Rambler and Proactive Assistance in Made by Google Showcase

Google's recent Made by Google showcase introduced several significant updates to its Gemini Intelligence tools. Among them is Rambler, an all-new transcription tool that leverages Gemini to convert spoken language into clear and concise text. Unlike traditional transcriptions, Rambler skips filler words like 'um' and 'hmm', cuts repetition, adds punctuation, and revises messages for a professional tone before sending.

Rambler works best online but can perform basic dictation offline. The feature's support page mentions usage limits, although it does not specify what these are yet. Additionally, the tool is said to debut with the Pixel 11 series, which will hit shelves on August 20.

Another notable update is Proactive Assistance, Google's rebranded Magic Cue. This agentic AI-powered feature enables users to complete tasks within Google Maps, find parking and other details before an event, quickly fill out travel forms, and more. It can even automatically surface loyalty cards when arriving at participating stores, provided the user agrees to share location data.

Gemini's capabilities now extend to handling multistep tasks across over 40 apps on Pixel 11 phones. This includes organizing trips, finding recommendations based on previous emails, saving places to Maps, adding sports schedules to Calendar, and more. The company also announced improved Live Translate for podcasts, YouTube videos, and other apps, as well as a Gboard feature that translates sign language into text using the smartphone camera.

These updates demonstrate Gemini's growing capabilities in AI-driven tasks and its potential applications in various aspects of user experience.
