Google Unveils SAFE: Automated System to Combat AI-Generated Content on YouTube
A Google research paper has shed light on the company's efforts to combat AI-generated content on YouTube. The Scaled Abuse Forensics Examiner (SAFE) is an automated system that uses four AI agents to investigate coordinated networks of synthetic video channels.
The system, which is still in early use, mimics the reasoning process of a human forensic analyst and can identify patterns that evade traditional classifiers. SAFE retrieves and correlates three pillars of evidence: infrastructure signals, inorganic behavioral patterns, and generative content artefacts.
The agents work together to determine if a cluster of channels represents a coordinated synthetic attack or organic activity. The system's accuracy metric is not specified in the paper.
