Google Updates Search Console for Multi-Country Traffic Analysis
Google has introduced an update to the Performance report filters in Search Console, allowing users to analyze combined Google Search traffic across multiple countries at once. Previously, users could only compare two countries side by side, which limited the ability to view broader traffic patterns. The new update simplifies the process for teams operating in multiple markets, particularly those monitoring several European regions.
Google Search Central announced the change on LinkedIn on October 6, highlighting that the update makes it easier to analyze traffic patterns across different countries and devices. The post included a screenshot showing the updated Country filter, which now features checkboxes for selecting multiple countries. The update also affects device filters, though specific changes to this feature were not detailed.
Before this update, Google’s help page indicated that users could only compare two items at a time when analyzing multiple devices, search types, countries, or search appearance types. This limitation has now been addressed with the new filtering capability. However, the help page still illustrates the older comparison feature, which may need updating to reflect the latest changes.
The update is currently rolling out, but Google did not specify if it will reach all properties simultaneously. Users are advised to check the help page for further updates, including any changes to the Compare tab’s two-item limit.
