Google Wallet Adds Kid-Friendly Spending Controls
Google has expanded its Wallet service to include a new feature for parents to manage their children's spending. The company has rolled out additional safeguards and integrations with Family Link, which includes restrictions on screen time.
The new tool allows account managers to transfer funds, set daily spending limits, and monitor purchases for supervised accounts connected to their profiles. Parents can also lock down payment options for lost or stolen devices or enact 'spending timeouts'.
Kid and teen users can tap to pay using Android and Wear OS devices anywhere Google Pay is accepted. The feature works alongside existing parental controls in Family Link, which aims to reduce kids' screen time.
