Google Wallet Integrates Gemini for Smarter Spending Insights

Google has integrated Gemini into its Google Wallet app, allowing users to track spending and access digital travel passes directly from their wallet.

The integration uses the Connected Apps ecosystem to pull information from saved items in Google Wallet. Users can ask for airline loyalty numbers, locate event tickets, or retrieve boarding passes by tagging @Google Wallet in the prompt box.

For users with financial accounts linked to Google Wallet through Plaid, Gemini can analyze transaction history to provide spending breakdowns and budgeting tips. This feature allows users to ask specific questions about their spending habits, such as how much they spent on groceries last month or where most of their paycheck went.

The integration has built-in safety limits, preventing Gemini from executing transactions or modifying connected financial accounts. Users can unlink Wallet from Gemini at any time without affecting previously processed transaction data.
