Google Wallet Introduces Dedicated Balance for Kids and Teens

Google has introduced a new feature in its Google Wallet platform that allows parents to set up a dedicated balance for their kids and teens under 18. This secure balance can be used by the minors to make purchases using Google Pay through NFC-enabled Android and Wear OS devices.

The parents have full control over the kids' balance and activity, which is monitored through Family Link. They can transfer money directly from their own account, set spending limits, track purchases in real-time, and even schedule automatic regular payments soon.

To get started, the child needs to be under 18 with a supervised Google Account, and both parents need to have a Family Group. The family manager must complete the setup for the child's balance through Google Family Link or the Google Wallet website, while managing the kid's balance can also be done by the other parent if applicable.
