Google Wallet updates Android app with stacked card list redesign
Google Wallet for Android is rolling out a redesigned card list layout, replacing the previous carousel-style display with a stacked format. The new design shows one full card preview at the top, with a partial view of the next card, and allows users to swipe down to see more cards in a fullscreen layout. The 'Manage payment methods' option at the bottom lets users reorder cards and set a default, similar to the previous design.
Users can tap a card to use it for tap-to-pay transactions. To view card details and transaction history, there’s a new settings gear icon in the top-right corner, adding an extra step compared to the previous approach. This redesign is optimized for one-handed use, especially if frequently used cards are placed at the bottom.
The stacked card list redesign began rolling out in September and is now becoming widely available. It is being deployed via a server-side update and has been observed on multiple devices. This update follows earlier changes to the Google Wallet homepage, including the redesign of the bottom half earlier this year.
