Google Wins Calif. Court Review of Social Media Addiction Coverage

Google has won its request for a California state court to review a dispute over coverage for social media addiction multidistrict litigation (MDL).

The decision, made by Judge Abraham Gross on October 1, 2026, sets the stage for a potential fight over MDL coverage.

As part of this case, Google had requested that the California state court review the dispute instead of Delaware judge who recently ruled in favor of the company.
