Google Wins Dismissal of Antitrust Suits over AI-Generated Content
A D.C. federal judge has dismissed antitrust suits filed by Chegg Inc. and Penske Media Corp against Google, ruling that their central claims about coercion of publishers to supply free content for AI products fail to meet the necessary standards.
The lawsuits alleged that Google's use of artificial intelligence products forces online publishers to provide content without fair compensation, leading to economic harm.
However, U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly found that these claims 'fail to get out of the starting gate' and are therefore lacking in substance.
