Googlebook Takes Aim at Flagship Laptops with ChromeOS-Android Hybrid
Google's new laptop category, Googlebook, has opened preorders on September 21, marking a significant step in the company's expansion of its laptop lineup. Unlike Chromebooks, which cover everything from entry-level to premium models, Googlebook is positioned as a flagship tier that combines ChromeOS and Android more closely.
The key differences between Googlebook and Chromebook include deeper Android integration, new Gemini tools, and tighter phone connectivity. This means that Android apps will behave more naturally on a larger screen, and users can access their paired Android phone's files directly from the laptop.
Googlebook preorders have started with prices yet to be announced, while Chromebooks start at $179 and Chromebook Plus models start at $369. The first wave of Googlebooks will come from PC makers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
