Google's AI-Driven 'Call for Me' Feature Takes the Boring Phone Calls Away

Google has introduced an experimental feature called Call for Me as part of its Gemini Intelligence technology. This feature allows users to avoid phone calls they don't want to make by having AI handle the call entirely.

The Call for Me feature builds on earlier features like Hold for Me and Direct My Call, which help users navigate automated phone menus and speak with customer service representatives.

According to Google, the AI-powered Gemini Intelligence technology can handle simple tasks like rescheduling appointments or booking servicing for cars. The system introduces itself, navigates menus, waits on hold, and even handles conversations with people on the other end of the call.

Google provides examples of tasks that Call for Me can assist with, such as checking a hardware store's stock of a specific part or reserving a seat at a restaurant.
