Google's AI Model Boosts Stock Amid Cathie Wood's GOOGL Sell-Off
Google's stock is rising in premarket trading after the company launched Gemini 4 Argon, its latest flagship AI model. The new model set a record on a real-world software engineering test and tied for first on a cybersecurity test.
Argon can handle much more information than earlier Gemini models, making it better suited for long coding projects and other hard tasks. Google is already using the model inside the company, where it helped free hundreds of terabytes of memory in its data centers without adding new hardware.
Cathie Wood's ARK Investment Management has been selling GOOGL shares for two straight days. The firm sold 4,910 shares worth about $1.7 million on Tuesday and another 649 shares worth $221,257 on Wednesday, September 30. The total value of the sales is approximately $1.9 million.
Google has disputed doubts raised by some employees that Gemini 4 handles certain real-world coding tasks poorly. Wall Street analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on GOOGL stock based on 24 Buys and four Holds, with an average analyst price target of $428.21 implying 24.45% upside potential.
