Google's CC Now Helps Families Manage Household Chaos

Google has revamped its experimental project CC to serve as an AI agent for families and groups. The tool, which was initially launched last December as a personal assistant, now allows up to six family members to share their emails, calendar events, and tasks with it.

The updated CC creates a shared calendar, task list, and daily briefing that all group members can view. Each member controls what the agent sees, allowing them to pass along single messages or choose addresses whose emails always go to the CC account.

Before taking action on tasks such as registration forms or writing a shopping list, the CC agent asks for permission from the user. Google has set further privacy limits in its FAQ, stating that CC cannot add or remove family members, access, or search individual inboxes.

Google is not alone in developing AI agents to help manage household logistics. Amazon's Alexa+ has also been rebuilt around family life, offering shared calendars and to-do lists, as well as the ability to share documents, emails, and schedules with it.
