Google's DeepMind Prepares for Gemini 4 AI Model Launch

Google's DeepMind is nearing the launch of its latest AI model, Gemini 4. The announcement comes as the tech giant looks to compete with rivals Anthropic and OpenAI, which have recently released advanced models.

The head of DeepMind, Koray Kavukcuoglu, noted that Gemini 4 is currently in the early 'post-training' phase, with expectations for an early release before the end of the year. This represents Google's first next-generation flagship AI model since the Gemini 3 series was launched last year.

However, the launch may be impacted by safety testing and the development of protective mechanisms for the new model, which could significantly impact Google's hardware business, particularly in the production of AI chips known as TPUs.
