Google's Fitbit Edge Fitness Tracker Reportedly Priced at $180 with 7-Day Battery
Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) is reportedly planning to launch a new fitness tracker called the Fitbit Edge, priced around $180 in the U.S. The device is said to bridge the gap between the Pixel Watch 5 and the screen-free Fitbit Air, offering a compact design with a display for notifications and extra features.
The Fitbit Edge is expected to feature a 1.34-inch AMOLED display and provide up to seven days of battery life with the always-on display disabled, or two days with it enabled. A quick five-minute charge could reportedly deliver 24 hours of use. The tracker is also said to include IP68 and 5ATM water resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, and weigh just 17.7 grams.
Health and fitness features on the Fitbit Edge may include blood oxygen monitoring, heart-rate tracking, ECG, VO2 Max, and blood pressure and insulin trends. The device is rumored to support Gemini and Google Play-related features, with a user-replaceable battery. Unlike the Pixel Watch, the Fitbit Edge is said to be compatible with both Android and iPhone, though Google has not yet announced a release date.
Leaked European pricing puts the device at EUR 179, while the U.K. price is reportedly GBP 159. The Fitbit Edge aims to offer a balance of affordability and functionality for fitness enthusiasts.
