Google's Foldable Strategy Falls Flat with Pixel 11 Pro
Google's latest foldable phone, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, has been met with disappointment by one tech reviewer. Joe Maring from Android Authority spent time with the device and found it lacking in key areas.
The reviewer praised Google's design improvements, making the phone both thinner and lighter than its predecessor. However, this weight reduction comes at a cost: the battery life is now 265mAh less, down to 4,750mAh. The reviewer notes that this is not ideal for a foldable device, which requires power to fuel its large inner screen.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold's charging speed has also been criticized, still using 30W charging despite the competition moving towards faster speeds. Motorola, in particular, boasts an 80W wired charger and a massive 6,000mAh battery.
Additionally, the reviewer expresses skepticism about the performance of the Tensor G6 chip, citing previous experiences with slow performance and overheating on other Tensor-powered Pixels.
