Google's Forgotten Chromebook Revival
The Google Pixelbook Go, released in 2019, has become Chandra Steele's go-to laptop for her job at Android Police and personal writing projects. Despite being manufactured seven years ago, this Chromebook still meets all her requirements: it's small enough to fit in a handbag (8.12 inches x 12.24 inches x 0.53 inches), lightweight (2.33 pounds), affordable ($300), and has sufficient specs (8GB of memory and Intel Core m3 chip) for her tasks.
Steele uses the Pixelbook Go with two separate accounts: one for work and one for personal use. She finds its keyboard to be a dream to type on, battery life excellent, and the size and weight perfect for carrying around. Although it was initially priced at $650, Steele purchased hers from Amazon for under $300.
The article concludes by asking Google to bring back the Pixelbook Go with a more competitive price point. With its unique features and affordability, Chandra believes there's still a market for this moderately featured Chromebook.
