Google's Gemini Ties with ChatGPT in Monthly Users

Google's Gemini AI chatbot has reached a milestone of 1 billion monthly users, putting it in close competition with OpenAI's ChatGPT. According to Google, 63% of Gemini users prefer voice interaction over typing prompts, and busy parents are 43% more likely to use voice commands for everyday tasks.

This achievement comes just under a month after Google reported having 950 million monthly users in its second quarter earnings report.

CEO Sundar Pichai celebrated the milestone on X, calling Gemini the company's fastest-growing product to reach this mark and thanking those who have contributed to its success. He also hinted at ambitious plans for the next iteration, Gemini 4, which aims to compete at the frontier level of AI capabilities.
