Google's Googlebook Laptops Start Preorders at $899, Targeting Premium Windows PCs and MacBooks

Google's premium laptop lineup, Googlebook, is now available for preorder. The first models from five OEMs - Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo - will start shipping on October 4. Each device meets Google's baseline requirements of at least 16GB RAM, a touchscreen, backlit keyboard, haptic trackpad, premium chassis, and dedicated NPUs capable of 45 TOPS or more.

The starting price for the Acer Googlebook 14 is $899, while Dell's XPS Googlebook starts at $1,199. ASUS, HP, and Lenovo are pricing their respective models from $1,299, positioning the lineup as a premium laptop experience.

Googlebook laptops will run on Google's new Gemini Intelligence experience, featuring Magic Pointer, Rambler, and Create My Widget. The platform also offers deeper Android integration through Continue On, Files, and Cast My Apps. Users can resume supported tasks started on their phones, browse phone files and photos directly through the Googlebook Files app, or stream and interact with Android phone apps inside a desktop window.
