Google's Health Guardian Tracks Blood Pressure, Insulin Resistance on Pixel Watch
Google has rolled out Health Guardian, a new suite of health features for the Google Health app. This includes tracking blood pressure trends, indicators of insulin resistance, and an assessment of breathing quality during sleep on the Pixel Watch without the need for additional hardware.
The first trend reports will be available in early October, provided there are enough days of data from at least five consecutive days per week for blood pressure trends and seven days a month for insulin resistance analysis.
Respiratory emergency detection is also part of Health Guardian, but it's currently limited to select European countries. If blood oxygen levels drop to a critical level, the watch will automatically trigger an emergency call.
The features are available on the Pixel Watch 3, 4, and 5 for free, with no subscription required. However, Fitbit users will have to wait until later this year, and even then, only for Google Health Premium subscribers.
