Google's second-generation Nest Hub is now available for preorder at Walmart and Best Buy. The smart display, set to release on March 30, features a new opt-in Sleep Sensing feature that can track sleep patterns and offer personalized tips for improvement. This technology relies on a combination of Motion Sense technology, microphones, ambient light sensors, and temperature sensors to monitor the environment and detect disturbances.
The Nest Hub's Sleep Sensing feature is only free until next year, after which it will require a paid subscription. However, users can still enjoy other features, such as the dimmable display and Sunrise Alarm function, which aim to help with falling asleep and waking up easier. The new device also boasts improved speakers with 50% more bass and a machine learning chip that enhances the Google Assistant's response times.
The Nest Hub's design is nearly identical to its predecessor, featuring a 7-inch display and fabric base. With prices starting at $99.98, the second-generation Nest Hub offers an affordable solution for those looking to improve their sleep quality and upgrade their smart home experience.
