Google's Pixel 11 Pro Falls Flat with Limited HiLight Capabilities
Google's highly anticipated HiLight feature on the Pixel 11 Pro has left many users underwhelmed. The feature was hyped up as an AI interface that would glow when users spoke to Google Assistant, but its actual capabilities are surprisingly limited.
The RGB light ring on the back of the phone can only perform two tasks: it lights up in different patterns when a user is speaking to Gemini and flashes one of five colors when a favorite contact calls. While this may seem like a useful feature, it falls short of what users expected from such a highly touted feature.
Many were hoping for more functionality from HiLight, particularly with regards to third-party app support. However, according to reports, Google has no plans to unlock the restricted HiLight for other apps within its own ecosystem or open it to third-party apps.
