Google's Pixel Buds Pro 2 to Get Call Muting with New Touch Controls
Google is reportedly working on adding new touch controls to its Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds, allowing users to mute and unmute voice calls with a single tap. This feature would give users more control over their calls without having to reach for their phone.
The new function was discovered in strings of code within the Pixel Buds app, version 1.0.981607934. According to the code, users can mute a call by tapping the earbud once and unmute it by tapping again. This is similar to how voice calls are handled on a phone.
It's unclear whether this feature will be available on both the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and the Pixel Buds 2a or when it will roll out. Google has been adding new features to its earbuds over time, including touch controls for music playback, volume adjustments, and noise cancellation.
The addition of call muting could make the Pixel Buds Pro 2 even more convenient for users who prefer not to hold their phone during calls or need to mute audio temporarily. However, it remains to be seen when this feature will become available.
