Google's TPU Opportunity Valued at $200 Billion
Alphabet Inc., parent company of Google, may be sitting on a significant opportunity in the AI chip market, according to Morgan Stanley. The financial firm claims that Alphabet could generate around $200 billion in income from its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) over the next several years.
Google has been developing TPUs to run AI workloads in its own data centers for years. However, the size of the potential market has grown exponentially as demand for AI computing continues to surge and corporations seek alternatives to Nvidia's Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).
If a significant share of these workloads migrate to Google's bespoke hardware, TPUs could become a major income engine directly linked to the growth of Google Cloud and AI infrastructure.
