Goyal Meets Global Executives to Boost India's Business Ties
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a series of high-profile meetings with executives from major global companies during his visit to the US. The discussions focused on deepening investments, expanding business ties, and strengthening collaboration in areas like insurance, financial services, and frontier technologies.
Goyal met with IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna to explore ways to expand the company's presence in India. Their talks covered emerging technologies such as AI, cloud infrastructure, and quantum computing. Goyal emphasized leveraging India's talent pool and digital adoption to innovate and scale solutions globally.
In his meeting with AIA Group's Non-Executive Chairman Mark Tucker, Goyal discussed opportunities for the group to deepen its investments in India's insurance and financial services sectors. He highlighted India's regulatory reforms and rising demand for insurance coverage as key opportunities for global insurers.
Goyal also met with General Atlantic Chairman and CEO William E. Ford to discuss investment opportunities in India's growing economy. Additionally, he engaged with Michel A. Khalaf, President and CEO of MetLife, to explore the company's growth prospects in India's rapidly expanding insurance sector.
