GPS Instability Hits Embraer's E2 Jets Amid Operational Disruptions
Brazilian planemaker Embraer has acknowledged reports of GPS system instability affecting certain aircraft types, including its E2 family. The company said it is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with operators and the equipment manufacturer, Honeywell Aerospace.
Embraer emphasized that there is no impact on flight safety, stating that 'the global E2 fleet is equipped with navigation systems and procedures that allow the aircraft to operate even under conditions of GPS system instability.'
However, some airlines may face operational challenges due to the issue. Azul, a Brazilian carrier, has reported instability affecting its E2 fleet and is implementing operational measures that may result in adjustments to its route network and flight schedules.
