Grand Floridian Walkway Closure Part of Larger Walt Disney World Resort Transformation

Walt Disney World Resort's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is undergoing a refurbishment project that has closed one of its key walkways. The closure, which began with the installation of rolling planters and tarps along the affected area, directs guests to an alternate route.

A recent update by WDWNT revealed the walkway shutdown, which was accompanied by signs guiding visitors to a temporary pathway and bus stop for access to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Springs, and Blizzard Beach. Notably, the Monorail walkway upstairs remains unaffected by this specific closure.

Disney cast members were spotted working on the iconic white railings lining the walkway, suggesting that the refurbishment primarily involves repainting and structural maintenance rather than a comprehensive redesign. There has been no official statement from Walt Disney World Resort regarding this project.
