Home Depot is eyeing a 16-acre parcel between Navarre and Gulf Breeze to build its second Santa Rosa County store.

The site, located in the 4000 block of Gulf Breeze Parkway (U.S. Highway 98), is currently zoned Planned Business District (PBD) and would allow for a big box home improvement facility.

However, concerns have been raised by local conservationists over the potential destruction of wetlands on the site, with plans to build a large mitigation area.
