A new study reveals that a Halloween trip to Walt Disney World can cost families nearly as much as a luxury European vacation. Researchers compared Disney World pricing data with Booking.com information for trips to Spain, Italy, and Greece during the same week. They found that a seven-night stay at a Disney resort for a family of four averages nearly $5,000, significantly higher than the costs in top European destinations.
The most expensive option, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, reaches an eye-popping $9,879.30 for the week of Halloween. Even the most budget-friendly Disney resort, Coronado Springs Resort, costs $2,159 for the same period. The study highlights that last-minute Halloween rates carry a 21% mark-up over spring 2027 pricing.
By comparison, a week in Spain averages just $1,710 for a family of four, 65% cheaper than staying on Disney grounds. A weeklong trip to Greece averages $2,806 (43% cheaper), while a week in Italy runs around $3,768 (23% less). The data indicates that Disney’s park prices are only skyrocketing, with single-day “Park Hopper” passes pushing past $300 for peak weekend visits.
Longtime parkgoers have noticed the price surge. One Facebook user mentioned paying $88 a person in 2019 for Mickey’s Halloween party, compared to $144 per person this year. Another commented on seeing prices as high as $199 for a Friday in October, calling it 'beyond ridiculous.' Disney’s Halloween event, running from August 7 through October 31, 2026, includes separately ticketed nighttime celebrations ranging from $119 to $229 per person.
