Haverford Trust Co has taken a new position in Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) by purchasing 81,917 shares of its stock in the second quarter. This investment is valued at approximately $19,524,000.
The institutional investor's move follows other hedge funds that have recently modified their holdings of AMZN. Clear Harbor Asset Management LLC acquired a new position in Amazon.com during the second quarter worth $26,225,000.
Amazon has been in the news for several reasons lately. The company agreed to purchase up to $8 billion of backup generators from Generac, including approximately $2.4 billion of deliveries in 2027-2028. This deal aims to help Amazon bring AWS data centers online despite grid-connection delays and power shortages.
Amazon's CEO, Douglas J. Herrington, sold 1,000 shares of the company's stock on September 1st, at an average price of $254.77. The sale was executed under a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan.
