Healthcare Organizations See Improved Patient Care with Microsoft's Agentic AI Solution
Healthcare organizations are facing daily challenges due to disconnected vendor solutions and fragmented data. Microsoft is working to address this issue by providing a connected foundation for agentic AI, which brings together everything healthcare needs to deploy and scale AI.
The solution, called Microsoft Fabric, consolidates siloed systems into one governed source of truth that agents can reason over. This is complemented by Microsoft Dragon Copilot, which delivers clinical agents that work inside the clinician's workflow, and Microsoft 365 Copilot, which lets anyone across the organization build and run their own enterprise agents.
Three health systems have already implemented this solution: Brown University Health, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, and Franciscan Health. They report improvements in patient care, including reduced wait times and improved access to healthcare services.
Brown University Health, for example, saw a 70% reduction in ambulance offload times after implementing Microsoft's agentic AI solution. The hospital also reported that clinicians were able to focus more on patient care rather than paperwork, leading to increased job satisfaction.
Peterborough Regional Health Centre started by consolidating its data onto Microsoft Fabric, which allowed teams to move from waiting weeks for static reports to exploring real-time data together. This led to faster and more confident decisions across clinical and operational workflows.
Franciscan Health migrated its Epic EHR to Azure for performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and security on a future-proof platform. The cutover was successful, with no downtime reported by clinicians or staff.
